THE QUERY LETTER
Seventeen-year-old Twyla Silverstone doesn’t know what crime landed her in the Work and Education Center (WE-C), a brutal Martian prison where unwanted citizens disappear. She just knows she needs out. When a mysterious summons promises freedom, Twyla risks everything to answer it. Instead of answers, she receives a strange injection and a front-row seat to the sender’s assassination. Found standing over the body, Twyla is instantly branded the prime suspect.
Desperate to clear her name, Twyla’s panic triggers shocking powers: ice manipulation and a hypnotic, persuasive voice capable of forcing the prison’s corrupt Director to admit Twyla was framed. After a daring escape into Mars’s volatile Domed City, Twyla tracks the conspiracy to an illegal weapons ring and a rebel fighter named Jonny. But Jonny doesn’t just offer answers—he drops a bomb. Twyla isn’t a criminal. She was a powerful Galactic Senator and half-Lunar elite whose memories were forcefully wiped and formidable powers shackled by a ruthless corporate CEO named Brutus.
Before her imprisonment, Twyla was the leading opponent against a looming senate vote that would expand the WE-C system into legalized corporate slavery. Now, the vote is only days away. Armed with volatile powers she barely understands and hunted by a corporate empire, Twyla must race to Earth to expose the truth. But in a game of memory-wiping drugs, staged terrorist attacks, and shifting alliances, Twyla will have to decide how far she’s willing to go to reclaim her past—and save humanity’s future.

THE SYNOPSIS

Enter the Labyrinth… if you dare!
THE SYNOPSIS
Seventeen-year-old TWYLA SILVERSTONE has spent two years trapped in the Work and Education Center (WE-C) on Mars, a brutal prison where unwanted citizens disappear. Twyla’s memories of her past are entirely gone. Desperate for answers, she answers a mysterious summons from a man calling himself CAESAR. Instead of freedom, Caesar injects Twyla with an unknown substance and is immediately assassinated by a masked attacker. Found standing over the body, Twyla becomes the prime suspect.
During a hostile interrogation, Twyla accidentally triggers a hypnotic, persuasive power in her voice, forcing the prison’s Director to admit she has evidence of Twyla’s innocence. Realizing she has been framed, Twyla uses her newly awakened abilities—including ice manipulation—to escape the WE-C into Mars’s volatile Domed City.
There, she tracks the conspiracy to an illegal weapons ring and meets JONNY, a rebel fighter. Jonny reveals a devastating truth: he is Twyla’s brother, and Twyla is actually a former Galactic Senator and a half-Lunar elite. Before her disappearance, Twyla was the leading opponent against an upcoming vote that would expand the WE-C system into legalized slavery. To silence her, powerful CEO BRUTUS erased Twyla’s mind and imprisoned her in the very system she fought to destroy. With the expansion vote only days away, Twyla is the only one who can stop it.
Twyla and Jonny race toward Earth, surviving a treacherous trek through the Labyrinth of Night despite warnings that Jonny cannot be trusted. As Twyla gathers allies, she uncovers a horrific twist: she was the primary test subject for “Lethe,” a mind-control drug Brutus is using to manipulate the public. Now, the Director has forcefully injected Twyla’s allies—including Jonny—with Lethe, turning her own brother into a brainwashed leader of a horrific terrorist attack. Brutus and the Director plan to stage a terrorist attack at the United Humanities Headquarters (UHH) during the vote, blame it on marginalized groups, and use the ensuing fear to guarantee the WE-C’s permanent expansion. Twyla vows to stop the attack and save her allies.
On Earth, the conspiracy reaches its boiling point. When a manipulated mob attacks the Headquarters, Twyla realizes force will only play into the villains’ hands. Instead, she engineers a daring plan to administer the Lethe drug antidote to the entire mob. But when that fails to stop them, she uses her persuasive abilities to inspire the crowd to stand down, defeating fear with hope.
With the conspiracy exposed to the public, Twyla tricks Brutus into a televised confession. Brutus flees back to Mars, where Twyla and her allies corner him in the collapsing remains of the WE-C. After a final battle that destroys the facility and kills Brutus, Twyla returns to the Senate floor. She casts the deciding vote to abolish the WE-C forever, reclaiming her identity and saving the galaxy from corporate slavery.
But in her final message, Twyla warns the reader that the truth is dangerous — and that other enemies are still waiting in the dark.
“If you’re reading this, congratulations… and my condolences.
It means you’re like me—a threat. I bet they’ve sensed your potential and have already taken steps to contain it. Because you might be powerful enough to change the world and that’s dangerous to them.
You can still walk away. Pretend you never found this and try to live a normal life.
Like I did… for a while.
I pretended I didn’t see the truth about what was happening. I thought I was safe. Right up to the point when I couldn’t take it anymore and did the right thing.
That’s when they decided I was in their way and they took everything from me.
But I got it back and somehow saved the galaxy.
This is how I did it.”
